Fun, food and bubbles at Summer BBQ-
Resident Hedgehog Named!
We enjoyed a fun afternoon at our Summer BBQ which followed a beautiful 'priest swap' service at which the Revd Jody Stowell from neighbouring St Michael and All Angels in Harrow Weald presided and preached. Our Vicar, Emma presided and preached at St Mikes. The service was followed by an enjoyable time of delicious food, games and of course naming our resident hedgehog - Bubbles!
Speaking about the afternoon, Revd Emma said, "It is important to come together as family to celebrate our life together, God's blessings upon us. It is also a lot of fun. Though this church-family time was the reason, the trigger to our gathering, including our friends and neighbours from St Mikes, we had the bonus of local friends joining us - including some passers by who came in and enjoyed the fun - which is brilliant! Maybe we need to "do-church" outside more often."
She continued, "I was surprised by the naming of the hedgehog - I thought Spike Lee would win, but and despite a late rally behind Horace - Bubbles won the race - which I announced surrounded by the billowing bubbles swirling around me - unplanned poetry! And just to say, St Anselm's does food well - the fish, jerk chicken and plantain being particularly good! Thanks to all who contributed, for our newly resurrected social committee and our BBQ-ers! Who knew bubbles, volleyball and speed Connect 4 would be so popular!"
