Supporting Harrow Foodbank
St. Anselm’s Church is proud to have supported Harrow Foodbank for over 10 years, helping to provide essential food and household items to people in crisis across the borough.
As the cost of living continues to rise, many individuals and families are finding it increasingly difficult to meet basic needs. Harrow Foodbank offers vital emergency support, relying on the generosity of local communities, churches and volunteers.
For more than a decade, St. Anselm’s has regularly collected non-perishable food and toiletries, donated by members of the congregation and visitors to the church. These contributions are passed directly to Harrow Foodbank, ensuring help reaches those who need it most.
On Sunday 1 February, Harrow Foodbank Manager, Chonde Nkowani and Trustee Nahid Boethe received a cheque of £500 raised by the congregation and presented to them by Revd Emma. Chonde explained how much this is appreciated because as a result of the Cost of Living Crisis, regular donations of food have decreased as supporters are also feeling the pinch and unable to give as much as they used to.

This long-standing partnership reflects our commitment to serving the wider community with compassion and care, putting faith into action through practical and sustained support.
