Children and young people
|
We are committed to the Children’s Charter which means that we welcome children into the heart of our congregation. We encourage children and young people to take a full part in the life of the church by involving them in the services and by taking their gifts and talents seriously. We nurture children’s spirituality valuing them as equal partners with adults on the journey of faith while providing for their needs where they differ from those of adults. We try to communicate high expectations of the children’s potential so that the children will have high expectations of themselves. We adhere fully to the London Diocese’s guidelines in terms of safeguarding children and are always looking for ways to spread the gospel among the children and young people of our parish who have not yet heard it. We thoroughly enjoy welcoming children and young people from local schools, scout groups, brownies etc and from the neighbourhood. We offer interactive Easter and Christmas Workshops for school groups explaining what Christians believe about Easter and Christmas and are happy to open the church to schools and groups for Art Projects, Musical projects etc.

We love children at St Anselms. Their enquiring minds and spiritual openness are a constant challenge and encouragement to the church.
