NEW VICAR

We are delighted to announce our new vicar who will be joining us in May.  Revd Christine Robinson will be licensed as our vicar on Monday May 24th 2010.

CHURCH CEILING

Between May and September 2009 the main church buiding was closed for restoration, with the congregation using the church Hall for worship.

September 2009 marked the completion of a 13 week period of significant building work in and around the church. After two years of planning and fundraising, the key work was the replacement of the previously dangerous nave ceiling which is now resplendent in a blue colour - believed to be similar to the original 1940's ceiling. Installed in the roof space were new access walkways and hatches to the very top levels of the building.

In addition, restoration work was done to the large West window and associated balcony ceiling and all the down pipes on the outside of the church were renovated or restored.

We are thankful to the numerous kind donations which allowed this work to be undertaken - notably to English Heritage who provided us with a grant to cover a significant portion of the costs.
