The aim of this group is to enjoy all aspects of creativity in a friendly atmosphere. Each member brings something to do during the afternoon meeting and there is plenty of chatter and enjoyment whilst working. There is a cuppa half way, and sometimes the group listens to poetry written by a member, or listens to music, or to an exert from a classic or there is opportunity to try one's hand at other art subjects. The group encourages each other and so far has been creative in drawing, painting, writing, knitting, making greeting cards, patchwork, play reading etc etc.
The group meets once a month - on the first Wednesday in the Main Hall at St. Anselms from 2-4pm. All are welcome. More information from June Patterson (020 8907 0575).
Brownies
The 4th/7th Belmont Brownies at St Anselm's are a group for girls aged 7-10. They meet on Wednesdays 6.15-7.45pm in the Main Hall. There are 6 leaders and 23 girls. Please contact Beverley Hewer on 020 8907 5056 to find out more.
Friends of St Anselm’s
The Friends of St Anselm's was formed in the late 1980's and started because people who moved away from the area wanted to keep in touch with the church. In exchange for a small annual subscription to cover cost and postage, they receive a church magazine every month.
Over the years, the Friends have been very generous in their support of the church, supporting the various needs they read about in the magazine and donating funds that have enabled special items to be bought. The church is very grateful to the Friends for their continuing support.
If you would like to become a Friend, please contact John Percival (0208 951 0400). The subscription is £12 a year, and you will receive a copy of the church magazine each month.
Healing Team
We are a group of 11 people, all of whom have been trained by a Diocesan approved scheme. We pray together as a group or in pairs and all our work is confidential. We offer prayer in the peaceful environment of the Quiet Room at St. Anselm’s, during or after the 10.30 service, and at other times as needed. We can also visit people at home.
We meet as a group every 4-6 weeks, usually in one of the team’s home. For more information, please contact Margaret Gauntlet (020 8907 2343) or Clare Williams (020 8204 5194).
Home Groups
There are several Home Groups who meet to share fellowship and spend some time focusing on their faith. For example, studying the Bible in various ways or discussing current issues.
The number of people in each group varies, but is usually around 6-8. Some are led by one person and others share leadership around the group. We meet in our homes, but times and venues vary. If you contact Ann Percival (020 8951 0400) then she will be able to put you in touch with a group that you might like to join.
Junior Church
We have child-friendly bible classes, which means we pray, create things, draw, do drama and much more! We have two age groups, 4-7 and 8-13+. About 30 children attend. We meet on the first, third and fourth Sundays of the month, between 10.30 – 11.30am. For information please contact our youth team via the Parish Office on 020 8909 0788.
Kenton Group of Churches

All Saints Roman Catholic Church
Kenton Baptist Church
Kenton Methodist Church
St. Anselm’s (C of E) Church
St. John’s United Reform Church
St. Mary the Virgin (C of E) Church
We usually meet on the 1st Monday of the month at one of our member churches, for our monthly prayer meeting at 8.00pm. Contact the secretary John Percival (020 8951 0400)
Prayer of Unity
God, our heavenly Father, we pray that here in Kenton,
all Christians may be united in friendship and love.
As pilgrims together, enable us to follow in the steps of Jesus our Lord,
to make His light shine in this place.
May we dedicate ourselves today, to working together in ministries,
to demonstrate and share the love of God by what we say and do.
Wives Group
We are a group of women of any age who meet together to share a varied programme of activities. These include poetry evenings, quizzes, beetle drives and speakers on different subjects. Visitors—including gentlemen—are always welcome! We begin our evening with a prayer, followed by the event planned for that evening, and end with a cup of tea.
We meet on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month at 8pm in the Church Hall. For more information, please contact Iris Platten (Secretary) on 020 8907 6082.
Men’s Breakfast
This is an open gathering for all men, of any age, of any Church, or with no Church connections at all. We have breakfast together, followed by a talk, a presentation or discussion and the proceedings finally end at 9.45am. We meet on the second Wednesday of each month (except in August), at 8.30am in the Church Hall. “The Ladies” prepare fruit juice and cereals, and serve a cooked breakfast with toast, tea or coffee. Usually about 25 of us come along, and to ensure that everyone is catered for, it is vital that “The Ladies” are given advance notice of who wants to come. All men planning to attend are asked to tell our Church Administrator Jane Mason, or Irene Kingsley beforehand. To cover the costs, £2.00 is collected from all those attending. If you are interested, please contact: Jane Mason (020 8907 6409) or Irene Kingsley (020 8907 0224) for catering, or John Mackie (020 8930 8187) for all other information about the men’s breakfast.
Mothers’ Union
Our group is part of the world-wide Mother’s Union. Our aims are rooted in the Christian faith, and the St. Anselm’s branch seeks to support – in both prayer and action – this church, this parish, and the work of the Mother’s Union around the world, in strengthening marriage and family life.
We meet on the second Thursday of each month, at 2.15pm or 8pm, in church, or in members’ homes. For more information, please contact Ann Percival, Branch Leader (tel. 020 8951 0400)
Music Group
We are a small group, who meet to prepare for the musical aspects of the Sunday services. We would love to have more participants and both singers and instrumentalists would be very welcome to join us!
